Watch the sunrise over the countryside or take a dip under the stars in our contemporary reverse-level barn with a glass gable end, balcony, cathedral ceilings and large garden.

Welcome to The Roost: our deluxe accommodation with a glass gable end opening onto a balcony that boasts rolling views over countryside hills and woodlands.Recline in Italian leather sofas under the cathedral ceilings of the open-plan living area, or swing in the hammock chair by the woodburner and watch the sun come up over the verdant scenery. Fancy a breath of fresh air or an alfresco dining experience? Simply step outside onto the balcony where you’ll find a large sofa, dining table, lighting and speakers.

Feasting and socialising were high on the agenda when The Roost was designed. The kitchen and dining area houses a solid oak table that seats up to ten guests, while the Rangemaster oven and American fridge/freezer (with ice dispenser) beg to be filled with locally sourced ingredients ready for a dinner party extraordinaire. The large granite island, with an integral wine cooler at one end and breakfast bar area at the other, ensures the chef can be part of the social experience too.

Luxurious details haven’t only been incorporated into the designer living areas – you can rest assured that the ultimate comforts await you at bedtime. The master bedroom has a floating bed and double French doors that fling open to a wooden decking overlooking the stunning garden and pond area. Pad across the deck to a sunken hot tub that’s perfect for a moonlit dip. The super-king bedroom also boasts an en-suite bathroom with a grand egg-shaped bath in which you can enjoy an indulgent soak whilst admiring the country views. Just across the granite, oak and slate hallway is another double bedroom with an en-suite wet room that also leads out to the hot tub area.

Designed with families and groups of friends in mind, there’s a bunk bedroom connected via a small hallway to a double bedroom and large family bedroom with a solid oak super king bed. Afternoon light floods the family room and brings the outside in, and the two rooms share a Jack and Jill-style shower room. Throw open the French doors of the double bedroom and wake up to the morning chorus or sit out on the paved area and bath in morning sunlight with a fresh coffee.

With its unique design and superior in-house entertainment ranging from an X-box One and full Sky Sports and Movies package to a sonos music system, The Roost flaunts indulgence before you step out into the incredible 4,000 square-foot garden. However, its exterior space puts it in another league. Sip sundowners and serve up an evening meal in the gazebo, furnished with a rattan sofa and dining area. Or, follow the paved path to the pond and cross the wooden bridge to the glass-top tree house where you can spend a romantic night under the stars, wrapped in fur throws in a 6-foot bed by the wood burner. This secluded setting has an adjoining bathroom with a double-ended brass bath set under a triangular window beneath the trees.

For a more communal stargazing experience why not gather around the fire pit at the bottom of the garden? Or make use of the brick-built BBQ area and bar by the hot tub, complete with a Scandinavian barbecue lodge, with fur throws and circular seating for 12 – so the rain can’t stop your feasting and fun.

Each of our properties is made with children in mind, and The Roost is no exception. Not only can we provide any child-friendly accessories you need indoors (high chair, travel cot, toddler bed, toys and books), but the outside space is ideal for free-range kids to enjoy: Feed the fish in the pond, run off steam in the play area with a climbing frame, slide, swings and monkeys bars, kick a ball in the full-size football goal, or practise your aim on the outside dartboard. The garden shed is equipped with a plethora of garden games including swing ball, croquet, bowls, archery equipment and paddling pools. If you want to head to the coast there’s even a couple of kayaks you can take on ocean-bound adventures.

With plenty of parking and room for families and friends to socialise and take time out, The Roost is the perfect private holiday accommodation from which to explore the awe-inspiring region of Cornwall.
